What I Bring to the Table

I grew up in a beautiful city that never sleeps. School starts at 7am, some people start their day at 4am to prepare everything to run their business or set up a street food stall; they play a vital role for the millions of commuters that have no time to have breakfast at home. Thousands of people wake up early to travel 1 or 2 hours to arrive their job on time.

While studying at uni, I worked part time from 9am to 2pm. Sometimes, I had to enrol in lectures or lab sessions starting at 7am. So, I’ll wake up early morning to travel about 1 hour, get to uni and then go to work, and later go back to uni in the afternoon. I’d be home late every weekday. For about 6 years this was my routine. I never complained, I liked my job, I learnt a lot, but it was exhausting and it was taking me longer to complete my studies. So, at some point I had to quit my job to focus on finishing my BEng.

On one occasion when I visited Cineteca Nacional (Mexico’s primary film archive), I came across an interesting poster (see below). At the time, I didn’t know I’d go down the freelancing route, but I knew very well that all ideas in that poster made sense; they strongly resonated with me.

My dad started working at a very young age. I remember he used to tell me, “Siempre respeta tu trabajo” (Always respect your job), and I knew what he meant: commit yourself, don’t cheat, don’t be lazy, do the right thing, never compromise on quality, be on time, respect your colleagues…. It’s an all-encompassing principle that has stayed with me.

My observations, experiences, and lessons have shaped a strong cultural and professional background grounded in hard work and commitment. Across industries, the demand for video content is continuously growing. That’s why producing engaging and compelling visual imagery is crucial not just to inform, but to stand out and create impact.
